Hello, World!
It’s the No True Blog! Where we bring you the latest in the NTS world, whether that’s upcoming shows, tours, merch, songs, or our thoughts.
This weekend, No True Scotsman is mourning the loss of my iPhone screen, which Seth was holding at our gig at The Troubadour Hotel on Thursday for literally 20 seconds when he dropped it at the perfect angle and cracked that sucker in million tiny directions. He promptly lost all phone-holding privileges. On Saturday, we had a good long practice and stern conversation with Seth on the responsibility of holding phones. He apologized profusely, but we suspect he hasn’t learned and he remains banned from touching other people’s phones.
Sam’s D string broke right before practice and he was forced to replace it with a string that literally wouldn’t stay in tune for more than 10 seconds. He spent the whole practice playing while simultaneously tuning—an amazing skill if we’ve ever seen one. Josh, as usual, downed an entire liter of coke, Robb wore a graphic T Shirt, and I, a known caffeine addict, had a withdrawal headache.
Somehow, even with all this incompetence around me, practice went extremely smoothly and we injected a handful of our songs with new life! We can’t wait to start recording them this Spring and assemble our first long form album.
In other news, NTS is planning a tour! Where? We aren’t sure. But comment with cities or venues and we’ll try our darndest to get them on our list!
Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone in love out there, and don’t forget to be the Unicorn you were always meant to be.
Love,
Eva (the Chick)
